New Auditdata subsidiary in Kiev

On 5 April 2010, Auditdata is opening a subsidiary company in Kiev, Ukraine. For several years of Auditdata’s history, technical staff located in Kiev, in terms of software developers, quality assurance personnel etc., has contributed to the ongoing software development and maintenance of Auditdata’s products. So far, this has been handled via outsourcing on a sub-contracting basis. The new subsidiary, Auditdata Ukraine LLC, fully incorporates the offshore software production and staff under Auditdata’s ownership.

“It’s part of a natural evolution to bring these activities “under our own roof” “, says Auditdata’s president, Claus Bak Petersen. “We wish to consolidate the software development activities, which have taken place offshore for some time now and also to further strengthen the research and development capacity of the company for the future”.

Christian V. Holmelund, project director at Auditdata, mentions the flexibility of having an offshore production facility and the availability of highly skilled software staff as key advantages. ”We can react quickly to demand by the scalability made possible offshore. Furthermore, many of the software developers have worked with us over a longer period of time and have therefore gained a substantial knowledge of our products, domain, and customers. This is key to delivering professional products to our customers as well as continuously improving and evolving our products.

Auditdata Ukraine LLC is located in modern office facilities in central Kiev and will initially have a staff of 10 persons, with further expansions planned for the medium-term. The subsidiary will be headed by Christian Kalkar, who has worked with software outsourcing for a number of Danish companies in Ukraine and Russia over the past eight years.

The investment into building up a subsidiary in the Ukraine has been co-financed by the Danish government’s Investment Fund for Central and Eastern Europe (“IØ”), who will maintain a minority share in the subsidiary. ”This partnership with IØ entails more than just financing”, says Christian Kalkar. ”IØ provides a lot of know-how and experience on how to navigate successfully when investing in Eastern Europe and we look forward to continuing working with IØ also on the operational stage”.
