What’s New in Strato 2.4?

Updating Strato to meet enterprise organisational needs

Strato 2.4 will be released today, August 15th, we have introduced new features that will help and assist enterprise-level organisations. They include new business unit hierarchies and enhancements of roles and permissions. Strato is also certified for Noah 4.9 and will automatically update your Noah engine to version 4.9.

The upgrades are:

  • Business Units handing
  • Role and Permission handling
  • Feature improvements

Business unit management

In order that we meet enterprise-level needs in relation to financial reporting, security and other reporting needs, this upgraded Strato version provides you with the opportunity to organize your audiological shops into Business Units by grouping regions, offices and users.

Data isolation

The new business units feature provides your operations team with an easy way to introduce data isolation between users. While previously all users could see data throughout organisation, now they will only have access to data on the level of their business unit and beneath it.

Business levels in Strato

Together with the enhancements of the handling of user’s role and permission you can customize what a user should be able to access to on both a business unit level and office level. We believe the improvements will help you to get a clearer overview of where your business shows excellence and where your business could optimize for greater profit.

On the top of the hierarchy is always the Organisation. You can then proceed and create the first level of business units – in our case these are DK Branch and UK Branch. For each of these Level 1 business units you can create any amount of Level 2 business units – e.g. South and North for DK Branch.

Creating business units

The creation of business units is a simple exercise and can be undertaken in a new interface in the Administration menu. The new feature allows you to assign resources (offices and Users) to any business unit. We have also ensured that the movement of resources between business units is easy and allows full data transfer of all information assigned to that resource.

Roles and permissions

new Quick Search permissions
Administrators can now set Quick Search permissions for all the new roles created in Strato.

To do this, go to Tools > Administration > Roles and create a new role. Find the new permissions group called Quick Search.

Select all options to allow users with this role get quick search results from Articles, Clients, Sale Documents and Stock Items. Otherwise, set up your custom restrictions and click Save.

Users with restricted access to articles will not be able to get search results from this area. If you restrict access to all the entities, the Quick Search field will be disabled for such users.

Default admin and user roles have access to all Quick Search results, so this new feature will only apply to the newly created roles.

Export permissions per module

We have added more flexibility in allowing/disallowing users to perform export from a certain module. Now you can set separate export permissions for Activity Logs, Appointments, Articles, Clients, Payments, Sale Documents, Sale Items and Stock Items.

Permission to view dashboard

We have added the new permission to show/hide dashboard for any particular user in user roles.

Multiple roles for users

We have made it possible to assign multiple roles for a single user if needed. If a user has two different roles assigned and the first role provides access to area A and the second one to area B, then the user will have access to both areas.

Other improvements

new status set for stock items
While previously all returned items were automatically marked as In Stock, it is now possible for the administrator to specify any status for the returned serial stock item. You can, for instance, mark returned items as Blocked until you are ready to return them to stock.

Redesigned User Interface for client search by birth date

We have improved the user interface for searching clients by their birth date. Simply specify the day range to search for clients that have birthdays within this period.
