The Auditdata CA1 HF is a circum-aural audiometric headphone validated for extended high-frequency (EHF) audiometry, covering 125 to 16,000 Hz. It is the direct replacement of the DD450 headset, validated by Dr. Marion Bug at PTB Berlin (DN02777) and independently tested by Audiometrix.
The CA1 HF extends the same PTB Berlin, validated platform to 16,000 Hz, enabling extended high-frequency audiometry for ototoxicity monitoring, noise-induced hearing loss detection, and tinnitus workups. One headphone family covers routine pure-tone testing and EHF protocols, without additional training or equipment.
Passive noise attenuation of up to 44 dB at 4 kHz and 43 dB at 6,000–8,000 Hz — reducing the need for fully soundproofed booths in many clinical environments. Colour-coded earcups eliminate left/right placement errors. Single-sided cable reduces desk clutter during testing.

The CA1 HF uses a Yellow Mini-DIN plug. The standard CA1 uses a Red Mini-DIN plug . The color coding enables instant visual identification in multi-transducer clinical setups without needing to read labelling.
No. The CA1 HF is validated using the same IEC 60318-1 coupler/ear simulator and RETSPL values as the CA1 standard. Both variants were validated by PTB Berlin under the same procedures (DN02777). Clinicians switching between CA1 and CA1 HF require no audiometer recalibration, only the correct transducer selection in software.
At 16,000 Hz, the CA1 HF RETSPL is 54.0 dB and the maximum output level is 60 dB HL, referenced to the Auditdata Measure Audiometer & Fitting Unit. At 9,000 Hz the maximum is 90 dB HL; at 10,000 Hz it is 85 dB HL; at 12,500–14,000 Hz it is 75–80 dB HL.
