Circum-Aural High-Frequency Audiometric Headphone

Classified as a Class 2a Medical Device · IEC 60645-1 · ANSI S3.6 · ISO 389-5 / 389-8

The Auditdata CA1 HF is a circum-aural audiometric headphone validated for extended high-frequency (EHF) audiometry, covering 125 to 16,000 Hz. It is the direct replacement of the DD450 headset, validated by Dr. Marion Bug at PTB Berlin (DN02777) and independently tested by Audiometrix.

Standard & High Frequency in One Platform

The CA1 HF extends the same PTB Berlin, validated platform to 16,000 Hz, enabling extended high-frequency audiometry for ototoxicity monitoring, noise-induced hearing loss detection, and tinnitus workups. One headphone family covers routine pure-tone testing and EHF protocols, without additional training or equipment.

Excellent Ambient Attenuation

Passive noise attenuation of up to 44 dB at 4 kHz and 43 dB at 6,000–8,000 Hz — reducing the need for fully soundproofed booths in many clinical environments. Colour-coded earcups eliminate left/right placement errors. Single-sided cable reduces desk clutter during testing.

Best Care Experience

Every Patient Deserves a Test They Can Trust

Extended high-frequency audiometry is not a niche procedure, it is an early warning system. Cochlear damage from noise exposure or ototoxic medications typically appears first in the 9,000–16,000 Hz range, before any loss becomes detectable in the standard audiometric range.

The CA1 HF gives audiologists a certified, validated tool to catch what a standard test cannot, detecting damage earlier, enabling better clinical decisions, and delivering a level of diagnostic care that sets a clinic apart.

  • Earlier detection, better outcomes. EHF testing at 9,000–16,000 Hz identifies cochlear damage before it appears in the standard 125–8,000 Hz range, giving clinicians a critical diagnostic advantage.

  • No extra learning curve. Same headphone platform and fitting workflow as CA1. Switch by connecting the Yellow Mini-DIN plug, audiologists already know the setup.

  • Serviceable for long-term value. Cushions, headband, and cable are available as spare parts for repair and refurbishment, reducing total cost of ownership over the equipment lifecycle.

"The CA1/SA1 headphones, when used in combination with pure-tone audiometers, have been validated as suitable for audiometric applications. The results confirm that the headphones provide reliable and accurate measurements, making them suitable for professional audiometry."

WHAT WE CLAIM

Every Claim, Backed By Data

The CA1 is built to perform to specification, here's exactly what that means.

Extended frequency range to 16,000 Hz enabling full EHF audiometry protocols for ototoxicity monitoring, noise-induced hearing loss detection, and tinnitus specialist clinics.

Output Sound Level Precision of ±3 dB across the full −10 to 120 dB HL range (to 8,000 Hz); 60 dB HL maximum output at 16,000 Hz — verified at time of manufacturing.

Total Harmonic Distortion below 2.5% at recommended maximum output levels maintaining signal purity across the full 125–16,000 Hz range, including EHF frequencies.

Sensitivity of 100 dB SPL at 1 kHz, 1 mW verified at time of manufacturing for reliable, repeatable output across the headphone's working life.

Yellow Mini-DIN plug visually distinguishes the CA1 HF from the standard CA1, eliminating transducer misidentification in multi-headphone setups.

Passive ambient noise attenuation up to 44 dB at 4 kHz supporting accurate EHF test conditions even in clinical rooms without full acoustic treatment.

Biocompatible per ISO 10993-1 lead, nickel, and latex free; RoHS compatible. Safe for direct patient contact in all clinical settings

Same certified platform as CA1 standard cushions, headband, and cable available as spare parts. No additional training required when transitioning from CA1 to CA1 HF.
