In response to COVID-19, we are making it possible for Aurora customers to hold digital patient meetings.
Hearing healthcare retailers are struggling to cope with the disruption caused by COVID-19. It’s bad for retail clinics as store traffic has dropped. This is leaving the industry concerned. Especially since the largest population served in hearing health care are older patients.
To address this we have fast-tracked development of a Tele-Health module which integrates seamlessly within the appointment module of our Aurora practice management software. This module enables clinics to meet virtually with patients. We have chosen to make it available free of charge for an initial period to support our customers through this difficult time.
How does it work?
Simply create an appointment within Aurora and enable the online video meeting option. A meeting link is then emailed to both the patient and clinician. 30 minutes prior to the appointment, a reminder is sent to both parties who then simply click on the meeting link to start the meeting.
What are the benefits?
Many hearing clinics are closed during the coronavirus pandemic, and in general many people with hearing loss are actively avoiding medical visits. Video calls represent an important way to access care while avoiding face-to-face interaction.
What does it cost?
We have decided to provide Tele-Health for free through 30 June. As a default we will offer 25 free hours of meeting time per location which corresponds to approximately 50 patient meetings.
How do I get started?
You will need the newest version of Aurora to access this functionality.
